![]() Maybe the most significant disadvantage of the Capital One Shopping extensions is that you cannot cash out the money you have earned/saved through their offers. This is just a small detail and we all have our different taste though. The extension functions pretty well, but it looks and feels kind of old and outdated. It's like thinking you found a gold mine, only to realize it's fool's gold.Ĭapital One is a well established legacy bank, and that is something you can see when you use the extension (in a good and a bad way). Sometimes, you may think you're getting a good deal, only to find out that the same product is cheaper on another website. It's like being invited to a party, but only being allowed to talk to a select few people while everyone else is having a blast.Īlso, while Capital One Shopping does offer price comparison tools, they're not always accurate. This means that if you're a lover of local stores or smaller online retailers, you may not be able to take advantage of all the savings that Capital One Shopping has to offer. However, one of the downsides of Capital One Shopping is that it only works with select retailers. It's relatively easy to use and has a large user base, which means that they have done bunch of things right and the product is working. Their browser extension offers automated coupon savings and price comparison tools to help you save money while you make purchases with your Capital One card. This is well known especially with Capital One customers (wonder why?). I prefer legit places.Let's start with Capital One Shopping. There are enough fools out there that use Ebay, but I am not one of them. No addressing the tech issue I assume! I also must now assume after two days of back and forth emails that Capital One uses Ebay exclusively and that is the only thing that will ever be referenced. They just kept sending me copy / paste instructions for "rewards" or how to click on the button to use the shopping suggestion it presents. The only thing I got from their supposed support was not related even remotely to my inquiry. I contacted them about the technical issue that seems to be happening after trying it in several browsers at supported sites, namely Amazon and reloading it three times in each to try to clear the glitch. It is not a legit place to purchase things! Capital One Shopping does not work as advertised and there is no support. In fact, Ebay is the only place it refers one to. Every time I have gone to use the Capital One Shopping extension it only refers to sketchy sites for purchasing items at a seemingly lower price such as Ebay. If one could give zero stars I would, one star is too high a rating for this piece of junk. It's just a scam to get you to shop, especially from their links (I get a ton of emails telling me some item I have viewed is still available and to click the link) so they can make money. I have over a dozen emails from Tango Card Customer Service claiming they're "looking into it" but if I say nothing, they do nothing. UPDATE: two weeks have gone by and still the $23 gift card will not work. Not much better but they're connected to PayPal, give better rewards, and have Walmart and Amazon cards or you can redeem for cash direct into PayPal. IT IS A SCAM TO GET YOU TO BUY!! Switch to Honey. Meanwhile, you have plenty of ads from them to use them to buy, buy, buy. ![]() It's just not worth the $23 to spend over 4 hours so far without resolution. Capital One Shopping claims it's through a third party and to contact them. Safeway/Albertsons was on the list so I took that one since I live near one. To redeem, I have to go find something just to use the money and I'm sure spend more. ![]() Now they offer specialty stores only one of which I've ever visited. They used to have cards people would use like Amazon or Walmart but no more. Hundreds of purchases before there was enough for a gift card redemption of $23. Their own tracking system shows 92% of my purchases are DENIED as INELIGBLE. EVERY purchase I make that's eligible, the browser extension says has loaded my rewards. Verified SCAM: Avoid these scammers at all costsĪvoid these scammers at all costs. ![]()
